Nori opened her tired eyes and looked up at the ceiling. Another sleepless night. At this point, you could say that instead of blood Nori had caffeine in her veins. Despite overwhelming tiredness, as usual, she didn’t want to disappoint anyone. After all, she saved lives every day – and a thought that her resting might cost someone a life was too painful.
As she pulled herself up, her bones cracked more than they were supposed to. Ignoring a yawn, she went through her usual morning routine, and soon enough she was ready to start another day of work. Her long, silver hair was tied up in a boon – everyone thought she dyed them and asks her for advice, however… Nori was born like this. Silver hair, pale skin, never able to gain even a bit overweight… She didn’t know why, and now, being 32 years old she decided to stop wondering.
Green top and light jeans showed off her good figure and hid the things she hated about her body. Putting on a black jacket and white sport shoes, she was ready to go. Nori didn’t have any bags which always surprised her female colleagues. All she needed were her car keys and a big cup of coffee – which could fit in her hands just fine.

Nori never runs, but what she considered the regular pace of walking, others considered as almost sprinting – although she never looked like sprinting. She walked, just it was so fast, everyone was amazed. With that pace, she entered her office, and despite being 30 minutes early, she already got nurses asking for her.
– I will be there shortly.
She didn’t seem angry or annoyed. She never showed emotions at the hospital. And all the nurses knew that she didn’t say it just to get them out of her office. She meant it. Nori with her usual pace went through all the rooms she was asked to before focusing on the scheduled surgeries and patients.
For some, this would be just any Tuesday, for Nori, it was a Tuesday where she saved the lives of three people – and maybe more. Tired as usual, Nori decided to treat herself to a very late cake – after all, it was almost 10 pm by now.
Entering the usual place, sort of cafe and restaurant in one, she ordered mocha with a bit of caramel syrup and a cheesecake.
